Greenfly Studios at E3 IndieCade
Stephen, on behalf of Greenfly Studios, recently visited Los Angeles for the annual E3 exhibition to demonstrate our physical multiplayer games QuickDraw and GlowTag. It was a great honour to be selected and a huge thanks to both the judges and organisers of IndieCade.
Although E3 had the Goliath marketing power, IndieCade proved to be a bastion for innovative game designs – there was plenty of bustle at our booth with many games industry folk checking out new and exciting ideas. An incredible number of people thoroughly enjoyed playing QuickDraw and GlowTag and it was great to see them interacting with each other without the need for a screen. Greenfly Studios got noticed by a few journalists ranging from Destructoid, EuroGamer, Gameological and GameSpot as well as Machinima, AskAboutGames and the BBC!
Of course, the trip wouldn’t have been complete without mentioning a few of our new indie friends. It always great to meet another developer couple and Henry Smith and Sara (SpaceTeam) were lovely. Other fantastic people I got to meet were Alex Holowka (TowerFall / Aquaria), Keith Nemitz (Mousechief), Rami Ismail (Vlambeer) & Douglas Wilson (Die Gut Fabrik). The trip also wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my family and my LA host, Andrew Schmidt.
